Responsibilities:
The resource will be responsible for developing ETL components needed for the Transparency project, including:
· Implement new functionality, defect fixes and change requests according to design specifications
· Perform the technical design, development and component testing of repository changes
· Perform the technical design, development and component testing of ETL solutions
· Maintain current Schema, stored procedures, ETL code and documentation
· Execute ETL runs and ensure that data loads complete on time
· Support ETL changes and maintenance
· Assist in developing a framework for the audit and validation of ETL processes
· Assist in developing the framework for lineage report(s) that show the transformation of source data as it moves to a Client
· Create, update and maintain system documentation
· Provide 2nd level support
MANDATORY SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
The preferred candidate must possess:
· At least 8 years of progressive experience in the area of ETL program development and operations
· At least 2 years of Unix shell scripting
· At least 1 year of experience with data warehouse methodologies and concepts including but not limited to: star schemas, snowflakes, and dimensional modeling
· Experience with enterprise-scale relational Data Models and Data Warehouse, including both relational and dimensional models and the use of standard data modeling tools, preferably ERwin
· Experience with configuration management practices and procedures
· Knowledge and understanding of approaches for business intelligence, data marts
· Experience with Informatica Powercenter 8.1 and higher ETL development and application troubleshooting, workload management and performance tuning
· Good experience in database technologies like Oracle 10g and SQL server
· Good experience with PL/SQL and writing stored procedures
· Experience using Unix and knowledge in shell scripting
· Well versed in data-warehousing concepts like schema types, Ralph Kimball and Bill Immon concepts, slowly changing dimensions, conformed dimensions, etc.
· Experience with diagramming and documentation requirements, including Data Dictionary, Data Flow Diagrams
· Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment
· Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
· Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
· Ability to learn quickly and be able to diagnose technical challenges through reading code and supporting technical documentation
· Ability to work on assigned tasks independently and execute with minimal direction
· Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously, meet project deadlines, and work under tight timelines
Technical Skills ;
· ETL Tools: Informatica Power Center (8.1 and higher)
· Database: Oracle 10g, SQL Server
· Scheduler: Informatica scheduler, DAC, Autosys, etc.
· Languages: PL SQL, Unix shell scripting
· OS: Windows, UNIX, Linux
DESIRABLE SKILLS/EXPERIENCE :
· Data modeling experience using tools like ERwin and Visio
· Knowledge of open source ETL tools like Talend is a plus
